Since it’s inception in 1998, the society has provided students in the surrounding rural communities access to quality education, nutrition and healthcare. |

Today, out of 180 the society is providing over 125 students from 5th to 12th class (11-18 years old) with scholarships to attend a high-quality, private school in Dehradun. The program aims to give children in very poor, rural communities the same opportunities for learning and future goals as children from more privileged backgrounds in the city |

The students are entered into a good English Medium School in Dehradun, which they travel to by the PYDS bus every morning. There, they receive an education far more enriching than anything they would have access to in their villages, and get the chance to grow and reach their full potential. |

In the afternoon the students return to our Learning Center with the PYDS bus to receive support and mentoring by our teachers and their peers, with the aim of helping them in their studies and overall development. The children are given a nutritious meal every day and have full use of our library, science laboratory, computer laboratory and yoga and sports facilities. Our aim at Yuva Shakti is to provide these students with as much practical understanding of their subjects as possible. Out mentors are not aiming to teach, but to explore and learn with our students to inspire the natural curiosity and intelligence that lies within each of them. |
