On to Life: This project is aimed at assisting the children who have graduated from our school to transition successfully to a successful, self-sufficient useful adulthood. We provide: a small corpus for financial support and loans; career counselling; assistance with placement for work experience; and help in admission to professional institutions. (Read More)
 
Shishu Shakti: Young mothers are amongst the greatest in need of our women’s empowerment program. To help this, a Seven hour long Early Childhood Centre has been inaugurated and is currently operative Two, three and four year groups now receive care, love, education, lunch and snacks, along with immunisation and health care. Community Development: We also act directly in the local community through education, infrastructure development, health and hygiene. (Read More)


 
Our Programmes
 

PYDS has 4 main programmes which work together to empower and educate:

  • Education of youth is done through Yuva Shakti (Youth Power)
  • Support for young adults and PYDS graduates in done through On To Life
  • Pre School children are cared for and receive elementary education in Shishu Shakti (Child Power)
  • Our Community Development programme looks at ways we can be involved in local village improvement
Education of rural youth living in and around this area is carried out through two programmes:

The Scholarship Programme for Rural Youth (SPRY) has our children being sponsored to a school outside our village. All their expenses for attending the school, such as school fees, books, uniforms, busing to school etc. are met by the Society.

All these children also receive comprehensive mentoring at our Learning Centre every day after school to help them excel. The Day Boarding Programme involves the children spending 10 hours each day, 6 days a week over the entire year. Attention is given comprehensively to nutrition, Health and to Learning. The Curriculum administered is holistic and encompasses physical, emotional, intellectual,and social health.
